Making Our Voice Heard in Washington
Building on our proven state-level record, American Pharmacies entered the federal arena in 2023 to take on critical challenges facing independent pharmacy.
We retained Roberti Global, one of the nation’s top bipartisan lobbying firms, with Managing Partner Steven Irizarry serving as our lead strategist. Together with Michael Wright, APRx VP of Government Affairs, we’re applying the same disciplined, results-driven approach that has delivered consistent wins in the states.
Our Federal Priorities
- Build strong relationships with key members of Congress and federal agencies
- Partner with national pharmacy and healthcare groups to amplify our voice
- Mobilize member relationships to strengthen pharmacy support in Congress
- Leverage our state-level legislative champions to drive federal momentum
- Pursue regulatory reforms at the FTC, CMS, DOL, and other agencies
- Increase member awareness and engagement in federal issues
- Strategically time and coordinate advocacy for maximum impact
- Use our state successes as a springboard for federal victories
To reinforce this effort, we’ve launched a Federal Advocacy Council of pharmacists from eight states who advise and lead our initiatives in Washington.
